Tony Curtis

Actor Tony Curtis in his younger years

Hollywood Legend Tony Curtis, one of the last icons of the Golden Age of Hollywood, passed away early this morning at the age of 85.  I once heard Tony referred to as "the Brad Pitt and George Clooney rolled into one" of his era.  Oh and those spectacular locks ~ it is said that the inspiration for a young Elvis Presley's signature hairdo was Tony!  I like this article from the June issue of GQ Magazine it's one of Tony's last interviews ~   My thoughts and prayers go out to Tony's family and loved ones ~ may you rest in peace

Yup ~ I'm a Fair Weather Golfer!

If your in the market for a golf umbrella or just a hip stylish umbrella ~ fashion statement ~ you've got to check out "Cheeky Umbrellas!"  Based out of Vancouver, BC founder Jen Zurowski does a magnificent job of creating  amazing umbrellas that "brighten your day" with "cheeky" statements written on the inside lining such as "I prefer umbrellas in my cocktails" and "rain doesn't dare mess my hair."  To top it off they actually shield you from the rain whilst all the while making a fashion forward statement!  I mean ~ can it get any better than that on a dreary rainy day? Jen has a wide array of umbrellas to choose from ~ there are long umbrellas to kids to bridal to compact and of course my fave ~ the golf umbrella!  There's even a Fall sale going on now!

Don't Hassle the Hoff!

Sponsored by Waste Management San Diego guy Carlie Hoffman is the 2010 Deutsche Bank Championship winner! Charlie shot a record final round score of  9-under 62 (with 11 birdies) tying VJ Sing's tournament record set in 2008.  What does this win mean for Charlie?  Well ~ he's automatically exempted into all 4 PGA Tour Majors for the 2011 season, a $1,350,000.00 payday and he jumps from 59 to #2 in the FedExCup Standings.  Charlie now has 18 career top 10 and 41 top 25 PGA Tour finishes.   Maybe a kool 10 million dollar payday is in Charlie's future as well? Rickie Fowler

PGA Tour Pro Rickie Fowler

As if by magic Rickie Fowler produced hundreds of purple Puma caps for his throng of screaming (tweens) fans after his final round here at the 2010 Deutsche Bank Championship.  What fun!  In this pic Rickie's urging his fans to pipe down as he autographs their "priceless caps!"  What do you think was the most requested product at the TPC Boston during tournament week?  Apparently the one thing the pro shop did not have in stock ~ the PUMA cap!  New England Puma rep Clem Lamarre assured me that next year Puma products will Rock the TPC Boston(photo courtesy of Pat Eastman)
