Acushnet Company sells Cobra Golf to PUMA
Puma brand has purchased Cobra Golf from New England based Acushnet Company! The sale is slated to be finalized in the second quarter of this year. Based out of Carlsbad, CA. Cobra golf was founded in 1973! While the sale will include endorsement contracts with professional golfers players have the option to alter their endorsement deals if they choose and we shall see how it all pans out over time. PGA Tour pros such as Ian Poulter and Camilo Villegas use a mix of Titleist and Cobra clubs. Following the announcement, Ian Poulter tweeted that, "yes - I will still be using Cobra Products" and Puma apparel guy rookie Ricky Fowler tweeted that "he is a Titleist guy." Puma footwear, apparel and accessories have been synonymous with young, edgy, smokin' and trendy ~ now with the purchase of Cobra equipment they will be poised and ready to totally rock the golf world!

Yup, gotta admit it ~ I'm a golfgirl with sailing roots....that means I'm a land lover but crave the thrill of the ocean ~ don't know how else to explain it! The race track for the upcoming Volvo Ocean Race, due to start from Alicante in Spain in the autumn of 2011, is now set and the first port of call will be Cape Town, South Africa, making its eighth appearance as host to this premier ocean race! This marks the beginning of the port announcement process for the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-12 and the rest of the course around the world will be revealed before the end of March. Giddy-Up! BTW New England guy Ken Read (and crew finished up in second place in the 2008-09 Volvo Ocean Race) is a huge golfer! Kenny along with Volvo Ocean Race Skippers Ian Walker and Magnus Olssen recently played with Ryder Cup Captains Corey Pavin and Colin Montgomerie during the Pro-Am round of the Volvo World Match Play Championships Oct. 29-Nov. 1 2009! Puma Ocean Racing ~ edgy, young, exciting and a bit crazy ~ fingers crossed ~ we shall see ~ stay tuned!
