March 20, 2012 ~ At a press conference held at The Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem ( ASAP Transcript of Mr. Finchem's presser) outlined to the media the changes made by the PGA Tour Policy Board ~ the biggest in 30 years! Highlights include major schedule changes such as the PGA Tour season will begin in October and continue into September of the following year, the restructuring of the Nationwide Tour and annual PGA Tour Q-School thus making the Nationwide Tour the primary pathway to the PGA Tour. Just to clarify ~ here's the rundown of the changes which btw may be a bit confusing ~ reminiscent the FedExCup point system when first implemented! Critics site the fact that there will be no more Q-School Cinderella stories which may drive many players just out of college to start their careers in Europe such as Peter Uihlein and of course the old adage "if it ain't broke don't fix it." With many details still to be worked out, only time will tell how this new system will all pan out.
