Rick Smith on Hank Haney ~ Code of the Road

Celebrated swing coach Rick Smith had a few choice comments this past week at Bay Hill about Hank Haney's new book "The Big Miss ~ My Years Coaching Tiger Woods" ~ due out March 27th.  Smith has worked with many PGA Tour players in his day ~ Phil Mickelson, Rocco Mediate and most recently Rory Sabbatini and operates a slew of Rick Smith Golf Academies in the United States and China.  Rick told ESPN's Farrell Evans that his beef with Haney is he feels that Haney violated "golf's unwritten code of the road" when he wrote about his former student of 6 years Tiger Woods stating "I would rather be broke and not have a penny to my name before I violate the code of player-teacher confidentiality.  In 27 years out here, I've never done that.  I'm personally upset with Hank because he's broken and violated our code of ethics. If you have the opportunity and you're privileged to conversations, you will not and should not share anything from them with anyone. I don't care who it is."

Rick's advice moving forward ~ Haney should "suck up" any ill feelings that he might have toward Woods after their working relationship ended in 2010, and be "grateful" and "appreciative" for the chance to work with one of the greatest players of all time.
