Tiger's 72nd PGA Tour Victory!

Tiger with Swing Coach Sean Foley after his win at Bay Hill

March 25, 2012 ~  Winning by 5 strokes and shooting rounds of 69-65-71-70 Tiger Woods secured his first PGA Tour win in 30 months at the Arnold Palmer Invitational Presented by MasterCard marking his 7th win at Bay Hill.  He did not however receive the customary winners hug on the 18th green from Arnold Palmer who was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure for high blood pressure but is doing fine now.  With this victory Tiger jumps from #18 to #6 in the OWGR and from #31 to #7 in FedExCup Standings.  When asked in his post round presser where this win ranked Tiger replied, "Well, it's not like winning a Major Championship or anything, but it certainly feels really good. It was nice to win here and with Arnold's involvement in the tournament. Obviously as you all know, my two kids were born here, and without his help and everything he's done for the hospitals here, the majority of the TOUR players' kids have been born here. We owe a lot to Arnold, and obviously Dr.Alexander who is here, for what they have done. This is a very important tournament for a lot of us."  In an interesting note Tiger's swing coach Sean Foley's players have won 2 of last 3 WGC events and 3 of 5 last Tour events.  This win at Bay Hill appears to be a pre-Masters warm-up for Tiger ~ who btw is now favored to win at Augusta where a record turnout is expected.  Pass the Pimento Cheese sandies please!  (photo courtesy of Wei Under Par)
